Developmental History of “JAWS: the Musical!”
Book, Music & Lyrics by Wayne Henry
“Jaws: the Musical!” began as a three-part sketch as a through-line in a comedy show at the historical Rose’s Turn in NYC’s Greenwich Village. The three acts were then put together, with reprises to fill out and connect the show. It was then chosen to be part of the Strawberry One-Act Festival, which is a 40-play elimination tournament in NYC, and it won first place!
A few years later “Jaws: the Musical!” resurfaced as part of Emerging Artists Theater’s Notes from a Page developmental reading series. Additional songs and scenes were added. After that, two weekends at the Broadway Comedy Club were booked, which quickly turned into a three month run. Since that three month run, there are new characters, scenes and songs and JAWS: the Musical! is developing into its next incarnation, a full-length 60-90 minute show.

Cast & Creative

Evie Apple
Apple is a singer, dancer, gamer, Loki variant, and all around silly person. Past credits include co-producer and choreographer of The Corsettes caburlesque troupe, as well as NY Cosplay Cabaret and other nerdy tri-state gigs!

Natty Bumpercar
Bumpercar is a stand-up comic, podcaster, artist, actor, writer, and producer. He’s one half of the comedy production team of Sweet & Sour Comedy (he’ll let you decide which half). He’s thrilled that his childhood dream of pursuing a man-eating beast is finally coming to fruition.

David Citron
Citron plays with computers, pianos, computers that are pianos, and pianos that are computers. In his other lives, David plays tuba, melodica, pipe organ, and keytar, dresses in silly hats, takes dog selfies, and writes software. In addition to being the long-time pianist for "GeekLifeRules: NY Cosplay Cabaret," David is the keyboardist for "STARMAN: The Bowie Tribute" and a composer and arranger in many genres. David is excited to sink his teeth into this fin-tastic project! https://www.davidacitron.com/

Kate Hoover
Hoover is so happy to be a part of this production! She is an NYC/NJ based actress who has performed all over the east coast as well as Off-Broadway. She is also a host of The Cosplay Cabaret based in NYC, co-founded her own theatre company Sonyo Theatre, and also works as a theatre teacher with Drama Kids of Greater Morristown as well as other companies

Wayne Henry
As an actor, writer and film editor Wayne has performed Off-Broadway, Off-Off Broadway, regional theaters, on TV and in several short films on the film festival circuit. He is also half of the comedy duo Henry & Stein which brought him to many comedy theaters and clubs performing character-based comedy. Thank you to the entire cast, crew and Sweet & Sour team for bringing "Jaws: the Musical!" back! www.MrWayneHenry.com

Suzanne Stein
Stein is a stand up comic, actor, writer and producer. She is one half of the comedy production team of Sweet & Sour Comedy, and one half of the Sketch Comedy Duo of Henry & Stein. She is thrilled to be reprising the role of Quint for this reading. She feels she is aging ungracefully into this role.

Robbie Stevens Jr
Robbie Stevens Jr is thrilled to be working with such an incredible team! Robert’s recent theater roles include: Peter in Jesus Christ Superstar, Will in Big Fish, and Roger in Rent. He has taken acting and improv classes at the New Jersey School Of Dramatic Arts. Robbie credits his family, friends and vocal coach for all he has accomplished in his theater career so far!

Anthony Logan Cole
Anthony Logan Cole is chomping at the bit to share this new musical with you. He is a performer and creative specializing in creating immersive experiences in theatre, circus and nightlife. He has created shows for venues like Etiquette Nightclub at Sony Hall, Primal Fusion Steakhouse, The Delancey, The Duplex, and 54 Below. As a theatrical director has worked on the acclaimed immersive productions of Rock Of Ages, The Hidden Ones, Cirque De Lancey, The Seance at Morris-Jumel, Cirque Below, Kitty’s Burlesque Supper Club, and Curiosities. He served as Associate Director on Les Misérables, and as Immersive Director on The Uninvited: Awakening. He works as a consultant and creative for numerous artists and venues including infamous nightclub The Box, the London production and UK Tour of Ghost Show, and artists like magician Zach Alexander and pop star Minoe. Up next is the Premiere of Le Swing (54 Below). Endless thanks to Sweet and Sour, Wayne, this incredible cast, and my beautiful family, Ginger and Dani.
Tiffany L Thornton
Tiffany L Thornton is a former actor and singer who now finds joy (and frustration) in “making stuff.” This is her first collaboration with marine life. Thanks to PC and the MHT.
A NOTE FROM THE CREATOR, Wayne Henry
Book, Music, & Lyrics
“Jaws: the Musical!” has been my passion project for most of my adult life. It tends to resurface every few years in some form or another. And though I am pleased with the half-hour version that makes for a very fun happy-hour style entertainment, there has always been a larger production swirling around the back of my mind.
The time seems right now to finally complete this project and let it be tested to the world, or at least for now, the tri-state area. The boost I have been given by Sweet & Sour Comedy and La Serra Garden has been and will be invaluable. I am grateful to them as well as this talented, hilarious, kind, and quick-working cast and crew to make this all happen.
Thank you for being a part in this experience.
